Bill Pullman to Develop New Theatrical Work in Denver

Theatre & Film Actor will Collaborate with Denver’s Visionbox Studio

DENVER, CO - Theatre and film actor Bill Pullman and Visionbox Studio are currently collaborating on The Wild Hunt, a new music theatre project which will have a work-in-progress showing in Denver at the conclusion of a one-week workshop for the project. The showing is scheduled for January 10th (7:00 p.m.) at the EXDO Event Center.

The Wild Hunt has been written by Pullman and will be co-directed with Jennifer McCray Rincón, founding Artistic Director of Visionbox Studio, a 501c3 nonprofit Professional Actors’ training studio in Denver. The project will use actors, music, projection, puppetry and movement to tell the story of Lussi (“the girl with two souls”), a patient in a psychiatric institute who transports herself to a mythic world; the Wild Hunt in the fjords of Norway.

The one-night showing will give people a rare opportunity to view a live theatre piece in process and to learn more about the ongoing developmental work at Visionbox Studio. After this first workshop, Pullman plans to develop the piece in New York and bring it back to Denver for a world premiere. Rincón would like to see more new writing and production begin in Denver and hopes to continue this process with Pullman and other visionary writers and creative artists in the future.

Pullman’s theatre work in New York (four nominations for Drama Desk Awards) includes The Goat (Tony Award for Best Play), Oleanna and Sticks and Bones. As a film actor, he has appeared in more than 70 films including Lost Highway, Spaceballs, While You Were Sleeping, Bottle Shock and Independence Day.
